A warm welcome to Rose’s Room, where everyone is equally loved, accepted and respected, as we are all suffering one of life’s greatest tragedies: having a loved one who is or has been incarcerated. We help one another by sharing our stories, experiences, heartaches, personal troubles and beliefs, as well as the HOPE that has enabled us to make it this far. The words and wisdom of those who have endured years–whether it be 2 or 22–without their loved ones, but upon release have seen them become appreciative, loving, hardworking citizens encourages us all.
All formerly incarcerated people are also welcome to come and share stories of their successful recovery/re-entry into society; this gives us hope that our loved ones may someday do the same. Formerly incarcerated people are able to give us the “true” picture of what our loved ones may be experiencing, and they are able to offer insights and ideas about how we might make their time away from us more tolerable.
We encourage everyone who has an incarcerated loved one to join us at Rose’s Room, and please spread the word to others who might be interested. We help each other at each and every meeting, and it sure feels good to do so!
